I’m Colby, and I was Adopted

Yellow labrador retriever Colby needs a new home
Hi, I’m Colby! Connecticut Humane Society

Did you know that yellow Labradors are the official state dog of Connecticut? Okay, I made that up but if Connecticut did have a state dog, a yellow lab would be it. Hi, I’m Colby, a 5-year-old, altered male yellow lab and you can find me at the CT Humane Society (455 Post Road E., (203) 227-4137). Connecticut is perfect for yellow labs. There are beaches to walk, wooded trails to explore, and I’m just the right dog to take along on your adventures. I’m friendly, playful and would absolutely love to chase a tennis ball. You throw; I promise to bring it back. I’m the sad victim of divorce and would love to be part of a loving new home very soon. Come by soon to meet me. I’ll supply the tennis ball.

Hi, I’m Sky! (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Connecticut Humane Society

Sky is the kind of dog that creeps into your heart and stays there. Unfortunately her former owners didn’t agree and abandoned this poor girl after years as a devoted pet. Sky is an 8-year-old, spayed female husky mix. You can find this sweet pooch at the CT Humane Society (455 Post Road E., (203) 227-4137). Sky is like your favorite stuffed animal from your youth.  She is scruffy in spots but will make you feel safe, secure and loved. Please stop soon to meet Sky.

Switch Dance & Winter Wind Were Adopted

Former racing dog Switch Dance needs a home
Hi, I’m Switch Dance! (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Connecticut Humane Society

Former racing dog Winter Wind needs a home
Hi, I’m Winter Wind! (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Connecticut Humane Society

The staff and volunteers of the CT Humane Society (455 Post Road E., (203) 227-4137), are constantly amazed by dogs that show up at our doors that have suffered through neglect and abuse and are incredibly forgiving to the human race. Cases in point are Switch Dance (2 yrs, 8 months, altered male, black) and Winter Wind (5 years, altered male, brindle). These dogs, as former racing dogs, lived horrible lives in wooden crates up to 22 hours a day. They were treated cruelly and abandoned after their racing days were through. Yet, despite all this, Switch Dance and Winter Wind are gentle and loving and so hopeful for a better life. Switch would love for you to visit, give him a few treats, and some lengthy ear scratches. Winter would enjoy some leaning time against you. Despite his name, Winter Wind is definitely not too fond of winter weather and loves the warmth of a nice fuzzy blanket. Stop by soon!

I’m Snow, and I Have a New Home

Poodly mix Snow needs a new home
Hi, I’m Snow! (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Connecticut Humane Society

Our delightful little Snow is sticking her tongue out on all those people who say senior dogs don’t make wonderful pets. Snow is a spayed female senior poodle mix that can be found at the CT Humane Society (455 Post Road E., (203) 227-4137). This spunky little girl has a lot of living to do and will make a lovely and friendly companion for some lucky person.  She would do best in an adult home.
