Two second-half goals, just two minutes apart, tonight lifted the Staples boys soccer team from a 1-0 deficit to a 2-1 win at Brien McMahon High School. Patricio Perez Elorza got the equalizer, assisted by Emerson Anvari. Anvari then headed home Sam Liles’ cross from the gutsy win. The Wreckers are now 5-2-1. On Saturday (2 p.m.) they host Fairfield Ludlowe. The Hill at Loeffler Field will be filled with alumni, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the 1969 state championship team.
