Brendan Lynch (18) scored with just seven minutes remaining today at Loeffler Field. That goal — off a header from Emerson Anvari, after a long free kick from Patricio Perez Elorza — was all Staples needed. Their 1-0 victory shattered Greenwich’s season-long unbeaten streak — and marked the first goal scored on the Cardinals in their seven games this year. Staples was led by its fast attackers, tough defenders, and keeper Reed Caney, who saved an early penalty kick. The Wreckers, now 4-2-1, travel to Brien McMahon for a 7 p.m. match on Thursday.
